Meet Jonathan
I’m Jonathan Shiao, an immigration lawyer based in Washington, DC. For over 10 years, I’ve helped hundreds of clients pursue lawful status, opportunity, and stability in the United States. My practice spans family-based, employment-based, and hardship-based immigration, with experience across a wide range of visa categories.

The Shiao Story
I’m an immigrant myself. I was born in Taiwan, raised in Southern California, and now call Washington, DC home. As a child, I witnessed my parents navigate the challenges of our family’s immigration journey. They made difficult compromises and faced losses both great and small. Even with all of their sacrifice, we could not have succeeded without the careful guidance and planning from our immigration attorney.
That lived experience shapes how I practice law today. I know immigration isn’t just paperwork or timelines – it’s family, career, identity, and future all intertwined. My goal is to guide clients with both legal expertise and genuine care. I strive to be a source of stability in uncertain times.
